Will the real King Khan rise and speak?
“Not being secular in this country is the worst kind of crime you can commit as a patriot,” Shah Rukh Khan said in 2015.
A year after the NDA led by Narendra Modi came to power in 2014, a group of Indian writers and thinkers began to hand over the Sahitya Akademi Prize to protest against incidents of so-called community violence in India. They cited the murder of rationalists Messrs Kalburgi and Govind Pansare, as well as the lynching of a man suspected of consuming beef, as examples of rising intolerance in India.
Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, in an interview with NDTV, spoke at length about the issue, which later earned him backlash from the right.
In comments that could not have been well received by the ruling class, SRK said: “There is intolerance, there is extreme intolerance… there is, I think… there is growing intolerance. .
The actor also said he “respects” people who give awards to protest intolerance.
“We’ve done a huge thing about our meat eating habits. How can people’s eating habits be a problem? ” He asked.
“” It’s stupid… It’s stupid to be intolerant and it’s our biggest problem, not just a problem… Religious intolerance and not being secular in this country is the worst kind of crime that you can commit as a patriot. “
Shah Rukh’s statement sparked discussions on social media. While many supported his argument, many criticized him for siding with “anti-Indian” forces to defame the country.
On the other hand, the Bollywood actor has carefully steered clear of those in power at a time when celebrities are posting their selfies with the Prime Minister. With the exception of an event called the government’s campaign to celebrate Mahatma Gandhi, Shah Rukh Khan did not attend any meeting or interaction with Prime Minister Modi.
What’s more, he also chose not to speak up for the government after many celebrities, including his fellow film fraternity, tweeted against pop star Rihanna’s tweet in support of the protesting farmers.
Although the Bollywood star has refrained from openly criticizing the Modi government since the 2015 episode, he has also not praised or supported the government like many others.
Aryan Khan arrest
Picked up on a cruise organized by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in its “drug trafficking”, actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, has now spent nearly three weeks in prison, after the court refused to grant him bail in several hearings. Aryan Khan’s lawyer has now moved to the High Court and his plea will be heard on October 26. The star’s son is expected to stay in Arthur Road Prison in Mumbai until then.
It should be noted that the day after the cruise arrests, the BCN had told the court that no drugs had been found on Aryan Khan. The investigating officer (IO), while requesting custody of Aryan Khan, admitted that no illegal drugs had been recovered from Aryan Khan.
Aryan was charged with drug use, although he was not in possession of the drugs nor was he intoxicated at the time of the raid. BCN said he and his friend Arbaz planned to use drugs on the cruise ship. He is also accused of being in constant contact with someone who has obtained drugs, with the BCN joining its discussions showing his links with an alleged international drug union.
Shah Rukh visits Aryan
After Aryan’s bail was rejected on Wednesday, Shah Rukh Khan reached Arthur Road prison on Tuesday morning to meet his son. The visuals of his visit to the prison have been around social networks since the morning.

If that wasn’t enough on the TRP’s occasion for the TV Moguls, NCB agents quickly reached Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan’s residence in Mumbai, in what was reported as a “raid”. The television channels broadcast live the visuals of the “raid”. However, it was later clarified that the BCN had visited Shah Rukh’s residence for administrative formalities and that it was not a “raid”.
Supporters allege targeting
Many internet users on social networks have complained for the past few days that the actor’s son has been used to settle scores with Shah Rukh Khan. The “raid” that did not take place on Tuesday added more substance to the question of whether the BCN targeted Shah Rukh Khan on the orders of those who will not be appointed. Many also questioned whether this was an honest investigation or a publicized witch hunt by the BCN to get attention.
Wankhede raids Shahrukh Khan’s home after warning his “buddies” in the media. Is this a professional investigation by the BCN or a high-profile witch hunt?

Some critics of the Modi regime believe it is using the affair to shatter the morale of ordinary Muslims. Journalist and author Aatish Taseer tweeted: “It’s so clear what’s going on: the wish to break the morale of the Indian Muslim by showing him that even the most powerful of you, the most assimilated, is nothing. . If Shah Rukh Khan’s son rots in prison, what are you?
Similar allegations were made by NCP leader Nawab Malik, who raised serious questions about the credibility of the NCB raid. Nawab Malik said Shah Rukh Khan was being targeted for not respecting the government’s line.
Does our system conspire against the star to make it his punishment? The Bollywood actor has been repeatedly targeted after his son’s arrest, with an educational app that removed his ads, while others have demanded a “boycott” of the products he endorses.
He and his family have been mocked and humiliated by click-bait articles, TV talk shows, and relentless trolling on social media sites.
Will King Khan rise?
Many anti-establishment activists often criticize Bollywood celebrities for not using their voices against government oppression or atrocities. The country, like bollywood, has been increasingly polarized, and there is a constant battle between conservatives and progressives to put the narrative in place. Progressives believe that their compatriots like Shah Rukh Khan, who enjoy a mass audience and can have an impact with their opinions, should speak out against the Modi government more often.
Hey @iamsrk ,
Your silence is the reason for the harassment of your children.
TALK like you did 10 years ago.

Many believe that it is because of the silence of Shah Rukh and others in Bollywood that the central government is emboldened to force them by using agencies or the media. People on social media are now reminding Shah Rukh Khan “”They came first …, The poetic form of a 1946 post-war confessional prose by German Lutheran pastor Martin Niemöller. It is about the cowardice of German intellectuals and certain members of the clergy – including, by his own admission, Niemöller himself – after the rise to power of the Nazis and the progressive purge that followed of their chosen targets, group after group.
Shah Rukh Khan’s supporters, along with progressives and Muslims, want him to stand up to what they believe is the actor’s bullying and harassment. They want the actor to speak freely as he did earlier in the dispute over intolerance.
But the question remains- Will the real King Khan rise and speak?
