When Nia Sharma Used to ‘Stand Outside the Studio’ Due to Producers Not Paying: ‘Treated Like a Mule’
Once, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Nia has spoken of having to fight with producers to get paid for her work early in her career. She also said it shouldn’t come as a shock that many TV actresses who tour frequently are seen as tuned out by channels and producers.

She said: “You’re on a TV set, you work every day. Of course, you’re taken for granted. You’re treated like a mule, not an actor. There’s no other way to say it. Bad treatment, bad behavior, they think you’re their worker. You come at 9 in the morning and you work until 9 p.m. But if you haven’t finished your shoot, we call you” Not professional”.

She added: “I’ve been there and fought some nasty fights. I used to stay out of the studio. Until my payment came through, I wouldn’t work. Yes , I gave ultimatums because there was no other way for me the payment was going to be made.”

She was one of the first people to confidently sport the bald look on television. For her role as Manvi, a cancer patient in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Haithe actress appeared completely bald.
